Abstract

The UN Conference of Road Traffic will seek to establish throughout the world a closer uniformity in rules of the road, road signs, signals and markings and in the technical safety provisions for vehicles used on the road. The two main problems to be reconciled, it appears from the comments thus far received, are to provide for as liberal use of the roads as possible "not to hold up traffic" ; and to maintain rules designed to provide maximum safety for pedestrian and motorist alike.
