Some notes about the use of the traffic conflicts method : report on the discussion of Group B, held at the 1st Workshop on Traffic Conflicts, Oslo, 26-27 September 1977.

The fundamental question of problems of correlating conflicts to accident skill is: should a conflict be regarded as an alternative to the road accident indicator, or is it a different or supplementary indicator of the concept of traffic safety or should it be regarded as a useful measure for the road user's well-being. This question is given for discussion, but not solved here.
