Some patterns and causes of injury in car occupants.

Abstract

An analysis is made of the patterns of injury amongst 768 unbelted and 111 belted occupants of cars. The causes of severe and of fatal injury received by the occupants are described for the different directions of vehicle impact, for the different seating positions, and the different regions of the body injured.
