Abstract
This report details the unusual,as well as the usual design cri terih specified for a discrete-bulb-,matrix,speed command sign. Laboratory te sts and various resuI ts are discussed. 1'he interac tion effects found among criteria meeting design specifications are pointed out. The speed command sign in use with the"Traffic pacer system in Warren,Mich. is the end product of the research specifications,sketches, and photographs, as well as research data, are included.
