Abstract

Some techniques available today for measuring vehicle operating cost and road deterioration parameters are described, with suggestions for simplifying the measurement technique in the light of the technological resources, manpower and facilities available, especially in the context of research studies carried out in developing countries. An instrumented vehicle for the rapid measurement of the permanent features of the road of horizontal and vertical curvature and road width is described.
