Abstract

The aim of the present study is twofold. First, the present study is conducted to better understand and compare space time consumption patterns in several cities/countries to develop scenarios of what might happen in The Netherlands in the future. In particular, this study will compare activity patterns of various household types in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Japan. The second objective of the present study is to develop a proposal how future activity patterns of households can be predicted in a possible subsequent simulation study, using the results of the present study as input.
