Abstract
Detmold in the Federal Republic of Germany has started a promotion project in favour of the cyclists. When the project began in 1981 the total length of cycle ways was only 32 km. In 1986 the network has increased to 121 km. Many of the new facilities are conventional cycle ways or shared with pedestrians. Problems which occur on junctions, especially priority problems, are discussed briefly.
