Abstract

Because the discrepancy between the admitted value of public transport of good quality and the way modern public transport can in fact meet to-day's expectation patterns, DAF and OGEM, together with the N.S., have developed a new concept for transport in towns and regional areas, called Spectra. The system is based on a considerable speed-up of trunk services with trams or (trolley) buses with an average speed of 30 km/h, halting every 800-1000 metres.
