Abstract

There is very little current research underway to examine the role of vehicle speed in unsafe road behaviour and traffic accidents. Moreover, there is practically no research evidence available on the relationship between driver attitudes to speeding and their actual travel speed. There is a need for an extensive network of speed zones to facilitate appropriate behaviour and to restore credibility between the motorist and the speed management system.
