Abstract

This leaflet provides advice on the height, shape and location of road humps in urban areas taking the new Highways (road humps) regulations 1990 into account. Details of traffic signs and road markings used to warn the motorist of the presence of the road hump are also provided. Illustrations and diagrams of both the signs and road markings, and of a transverse section of a typical hump are also provided, as is a notional diagram of road hump locations in an area containing junctions, roundabouts and pedestrian crossings.
