Abstract

Six papers were presented at this conference on: the UK Government Speed Review including the effect of speed on accidents (Lord Whitty); understanding the impacts of speed (Allsop, R.); why drivers speed (Stradling, S.); what would stop drivers speeding? (Corbett, C.); Can't go, Won't go (discussing the use of speed limiters in vehicles) (Carsten, O.); new directions in rural road safety, including trials of interactive traffic signs and self-explaining roads in Norfolk (Mayhew, N.); and campaigning for lower speeds (Mathew, D.).
