Abstract

This system corresponds to a kind of the Intelligent Speed Adaptation (ISA). ISA is the system to improve driving safety through automatic alarm and control of vehicular speed according to driving conditions (speed limits, traffic information on front roadway, weather, curves, black spots, etc.) using wireless communication. This project aims at developing the Speeding Alarm System (SAS) using RF communication. In the test on a Korean freeway, 95% of the vehicles with the speed under 150 km/h can receive the data from roadside transceiver devices successfully, and the speed adaptation device of the SAS acts very well.
