Abstract
An average increase of about 1 mile/h per year was found in a comparison of vehicle speed measured by radar speed meter at 18 sites on straight level main roads in Southern England in 1957 and 1964. Fifteen of the sites were on derstricted roads while three were on suburban roads subject to a 30 mile limit. The main conclusions were sie in summary.
