Abstract

The Dutch Council of the Central Enterprise Organisations is concerned about the increasing congestions on the highways, in particular in the peak hours. This causes economical damage to the enterprises and to the setting up of enterpises. There is an intensive consultation with the central government on the way how the investments in the infrastructure can be speeded up, while the government has the main responsibility for it. But the enterprises can give their own contribution in decreasing the traffic congestions. Specifications are given to diminish the journey to work by car, such as car pooling, tele-working, changing transport modes, alternative ways of transport, and changing the place of work. The traffic changing the place of work. The traffic management of the enterprise can add a contribution to solve the congestion problems.
