Abstract

The Conneticut Department of Transportation has an accident records system which has been computerized since 1960. Currently, there are approximately 130,000 accident records on file. This date covers the period July 1, 1965 though June 30, 1970. An interview with the administrators responsible for the accident records system was conducted in an effort to determine the extent of accidents with were caused by either splash or spray. It was learned that the code structure presently utilized does not in itself identify the splash and spry problem.
