On the stability and steady state performance of land use-transport systems.

Abstract

Some ways of defining the concepts of a land use-transport system are indicated. The nature of the interaction between land use activity and transport capability is discussed. The mechanism of stability is explained. The implications of certain steady state performance characteristics of such a system to the transport planning process is considered.
