Abstract

This paper shows some of the difficulties encountered while working in close quarters on mountain slopes. A description is given of later attempts to utilize photo elastic techniques and an assessment of work to date is given. Work continuous along this line. A computer has been used to investigate stress in an ideal medium and programs have been developed for stress change from rock bolts and from excavation. Programs have also been triangulation mapping and bore hole alignment.
