As part of the project Stadtinfoköln, promoted by the German Federal Ministry of Research and Technology, services were developed which provide extensive information on the traffic conditions and on the availability of parking spaces and car parks in the Cologne city center. The article presents the services Parkinfo, Traffic information and the Multi-modal router. These services can be accessed using the Internet, PDAs, Information columns and specially developed vehicle platforms. All devices access mutual service operators so that the differing channels provide similarly prepared information. For this reason three layers of architecture were developed which strongly differ in content, service functions (service operators) and preparation for specialized end devices (service provider).
