Abstract

The GEMINI project has addressed the specific problem which may arise from the conflict of information provided by roadside Variable Message Signs (VMS) and Radio Data System - Traffic Message Channel (RDS-TMC). The paper reports on the architecture proposed, the standard followed, innovative solutions and the full scale implementation aspects. The solutions include message filtering and the priority assessment rules which automatically ascertain which message will be displayed. Special attention is given to the Italian site of the Brescia-Trieste motorway corridor. (A)
