Abstract

The Stapp Car Crash Conference is the premier forum for the presentation of research in impact biomechanics, human injury tolerance, and related fields that advance the knowledge of land-vehicle crash injury protection. This journal contains 25 papers which cover a wide range of timely and important topics, including: • Restraint System Performance • Advanced Dummy Design • Head and Brain Injury • Spinal Injury • Upper and Lower Limb Injury • Modeling Techniques. This collection includes papers contributed by researchers at National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, General Motors, Ford Motor Corp., DaimlerChrysler Corporation, Michigan State University, University of Pennsylvania, Wayne State University and many other companies, organizations, universities and medical research facilities. The papers in this journal have been judged by Stapp Conference Advisory Committee reviewers to warrant publication in the open scientific literature.
