Abstract

Demand-Responsive Transportation (DRT) provides effective suburban services which should be an integral part of metropolitan transit systems and closely coordinated with fixed-route, line-haul services. Operating economics will be realized by such a comprehensive service. Integrating DRT services into a larger system provides management flexibility. A diversity of DRT scheduling methods has been identified.
