Abstract

It is stated that speed limits can give an increase in the number of injuries of the extremities. Without speed limits the number of injuries of the upper extremities are 23.9% and of the lower extremities 34.6%. With speed limits these percentages are 19.6 and 36.2. So a total gain of 12.7%. The number of injuries are the highest for the hand and shoulders, knees, femurs and tibiae.
