Abstract

A background leading up to the reasons why Australians made the first move by a high density motoring community making the fitting and wearing of seat belts compulsory, is given. Improvements and developments of new designs must be a continuous responsibility of the seat belt manufacturing industry, and some of these aspects are briefly discussed.
