Abstract

Minimising the impact of highway construction projects is discussed. Co-ordination of design and construction planning against the background of total community planning is emphasised, particularly with respect to funding, right-of-way, and continued support of the project. Consideration of public inconvenience, as well as temporary and permanent environmental impact, must be considered during planning and design stages.
