Abstract

During the last twenty years, Stated Preference method has become an important research tool within the field of transportation. This method has a lot of qualities. Among these qualities are the possibilities to use experimental design to control the variables and to estimate the isolated effect of each variable, and of great importance the possibility to evaluate measures not yet implemented. This paper discusses traffic safety effects resulting from changes in the traffic system. The main research question is: Can SP-method be used for estimation and prediction of behavioural changes affecting safety and thus be a suitable tool in traffic safety research? (A)
