Abstract

This paper describes an exploration into the usefulness and performance of stated preference techniques for analyzing bicyclists route choice behaviour. To this end various stimulus presentation techniques as well as response measurement techniques are tried out and their relative success are gauged. The analysis results are very plausible and stable; they indicate the worthfulness of the stated preference approach as a complementary tool to real-world observations.
