A statistical analysis of 28000 accident cases with emphasis on occupant restraint value.

Abstract

The value of 3-point safety belt is evaluated by a statistical analysis of more than 28000 accident cases. Not belted occupants sustained fatal injuries throughout the whole spectacle, where as none of the belted occupants was fatality injured at accident speed below 60 mile/ h. Slight injuries only, mostly single rib cracks, bruises etc. referred to the safety belt were reported in some cases.
