Abstract

The material presented here is part of a larger study concerned with police agency law enforcement techniques for rural highways. The primary purpose of traffic law enforcement is to control accidents by changing the way drivers behave. Only some kinds of driver behaviour are susceptible to modification through enforcement. The aim of this work is to identify the particular behaviour which should be changed in order to reduce accidents.
