Abstract

One of the considerations of the synthesizing of all available knowledge, quantitative modeling of the effects and the preparation of experimental quantitative information required in assessing the effect of studded tyres on accident frequency and severity, is the exposure of vehicles with and without studded tyres to accident occurrence. A plan will be formulated by the NCHRP for determining the magnitude of the effects on highway safety, of pavement wear and lane-marking wear by studded tyres.
