Abstract

Recommendations are made on the following issues: speed limits in local access streets, pedestrian crossing safety, anti-skidding brakes, location and conspicuity of speed warning signs, obstacles to speeding vehicles, effectiveness of radar, aerial observation of speed, police presence as a deterrent, speed on rural roads, effectiveness of advisory speed signs, danger of overtaking on rural roads and priority on overtaking lanes. 3
