Abstract

A detailed study of the stop-time of buses in Copenhagen-and the Hague is described; buses in Amsterdam and Rotterdam are considered more briefly. Boarding times per passenger of 1.85 seconds are recorded for both Copenhagen and the Hague. These performances, which are quicker than those of UK one-man buses, but not as quick as those of two-man buses, are dependent upon the use of flat fare structures, and upon a high level of prepayment.
