Abstract

The aim of this report is to describe the impact of noise, infrasonic noise and vibrations inside buildings on the human body. The sound propagation in beds and pillows has been investigated. While sleeping, subjects have been exposed to different vibrations and noise levels in a simulator. Brain activity (EEG), muscle activity (EMG) and eye movements (EOG) have been recorded. It is intended to propose standards regarding noise and vibrations when a more comprehensive investigation has been performed.
