The 1999 Annual Conference and Exhibition of the Transportation Association of Canada was held in Saint John, New Brunswick, September 26-29, 1999 under the theme `Strategic investments for sustainable transportation in the new millennium'. Panel discussion; Geometric design: in defense of transportation improvements session; The 1999 Geometric design guide for Canadian roads : where do we go from here: Panel discussion; Recent achievements and developments in maintenance and construction oursourcing session; Maintenance and construction outsourcing : the roles fo the new partners panel discussion; Shifting modes fo get to Kyoto: freight transportation in the new millennium panel discussion; Pavement cost and performance valuation strategies session; Strategies for enhancing pavement performance session; Strategic R&D investments for sustainable transportation session; Strategic investments in structures session; Community traffic solutions for the future session; Traffic management strategies for the future session; Your car won't get you to Kyoto: urban transportation in the next century panel discussion. There were three workshops held at the conference: The role of certification in pavement construction and maintenance; Bridge management systems; The environmental, economic and social benefits of road salt management.
