The Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt) of Germany has its registered office in Bergisch Gladbach near Cologne and carries out research and development projects commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development (BMVBS) with the aim of guiding decisions on traffic policy. To guide the activities of its research departments, BASt has compiled its current 'Strategic Research Plan' in coordination with its scientific advisory board. This applies to a period of five years. The research lines and aims described serve as a framework and as the basis for BASt research projects. (Author/publisher)
