Abstract
To determine the number of passengers in urban public transport, some vehicles are equipped with automatic passenger counting systems. As the number of vehicles with such equipment is limited, it is not possible to utilize such vehicles on all trips. In order to obtain a good indication of the transport performance, it is necessary to deploy the vehicles with counting systems in a efficient manner. This paper is concerned with methods to carry out a sample survey. It presents an efficient method of sampling and estimates the accuracy.
