Abstract

The present paper describes a set of strategies for the longitudinal control of the car. Both Autonomous and Co-operative Intelligent Cruise Control are considered by analysing all automation levels and focusing the attention on the levels made available by the most advanced technologies. Particular attention has been devoted to the description of the strategy for fully advisory systems and to the algorithms adopted to achieve the envisaged strategy. (A)
