Abstract

Perception experiments in the laboratory using windshields in varying states of preservation showed that typical stray light characteristics (craters, scratches, traces from the windshield wipers) differ in their effects on perception. In order to evaluate relevance to the process of perception, it is necessary to consider the specific characteristic of the damage in addition to the stray light mean value.
