Abstract

Since the early 1970s, the Street Office in Gothenburg has had a special grant for handicap improvement measures. Examples of such measures are: 1. aural signals 2. adjustment of kerb stones 3. guide rails 4. ramps 5. signal surfaces at bus/train stops, entrances 6. coordinated systems for large open areas such as squares 7. movement of sign poles, parking meters etc. 8. modifications to the design and positioning of park benches. A test of acoustic signals is presented.
