Abstract
Programme standards for street lighting maintenance are discussed on the basis of a rating for a specific road assessed from a) traffic flow concentration and speed between dusk and dawn; b) width and alignment and c) local factors such as pedestrian volume, bus route. Maintenance is discussed under the following heading: 1) lighting inspection 2) lamp replacement and 3) lantern cleaning.
