Abstract

The syndrome of Jessor's adolescent problem behaviour is examined, using data from an Ontario province- wide school substance use survey. The study supports the premise that adolescent drinking, problem drinking, drug use, risky driving and delinquency are not isolated behaviours but rather are interrelated with each other. Furthermore, the patterns of correlatedness among problem behaviours are systematic and strong enough to imply that there is a syndrome of adolescent problem behaviour.
