Student-run free bus service eases parking, cuts pollution.

Abstract

The demonstration project carried out by the university of Massachusetts, consist of a fleet of buses (manned by students) which provides transportation around the campus, through the town, and to outlying facilities and residential areas. The project aimed at measuring the effect of the free service, the increased parking fees and the associated restrictions on the use of automobiles. The results of the survey are discussed.
