Abstract

Two projects, both of which apply studies of individual road user behaviour to build predictive models for use in traffic design and planning, are described briefly. The first study concerns route-choice behaviour in urban areas, with application in, for example, traffic assignment models. The second study was undertaken as part of a major investigation concerning capacity of roads and intersections and focus on intersections without signal control.
