Abstract

Analysis of the factors which in an economic study determine demand and supply of transport of goods provides improved opportunities for the application of statistical and other quantitative data, to give better insight and control. Overall, structural and sectoral (i.e. type of goods transported) relations are discussed, and equations are given to determine growth and cyclical effects. Regional aspects are discussed as well as the modal split in transportation.
