Abstract

The results of experimental studies on the accuracy and sensitivity of the Robertson's platoon dispersion model and also on its calibration against actual field conditions in Toronto, are described. The results indicated that platoon data predicted by Robertson's model provided a reasonable fit with the observed data, but the accuracy could be improved by the introduction of a special equation to initialize the platoon prediction process.
