Abstract

Two types of safety glass are recognized as windshields for automobiles in Japan. They are tempered glass and laminated glass. When tempered glass is used, shattering of the whole surface occurs sometimes while the car is travelling. 32 Samples of these shattered windshield glasses on an expressway were collected, and a technical survey was carried out on them. The results of this survey are presented and discussed.
