Abstract
A new typeface will soon appear on road signs in Texas. The typeface, developed by researchers at the Texas Transportation Institute, is designed primarily for older drivers whose eyesight has deteriorated. The typeface, Clearview, has been implemented on all new and refurbished green guide signs in the state. The Texas Department of Transportation is evaluating the effectiveness of using Clearview on white, yellow and orange signs.
