Abstract

The specific aim of the work described here was to examine the road accident involvement and exposure to risk of child pedestrians on journeys to and from school, and from these to estimate accident risk to different groups of children at different times of the day and in different locations. The paper briefly summarizes the methods by which data were collected, it lists the main results of the study, and it outlines the main conclusions and gives some recommendations for preventative measures drawn from these.
