Abstract

A pilot study has been done to investigate stimulus variables (test field size, brightness and retinal location) that may influence an observer's assessment of the rate of flicker of a stimulus. Results obtained tend to support the view that the retinal location of the stimulus is significant in modifying assessments of flicker rates.
