Abstract

This paper discusses the influence of a biological clock (morning, daylight and night) on road traffic safety. It presents statistical analysis of road traffic accidents according to the hour of occurence, number of accidents, number of fatalities and injured road users. Relative parameters, as distinguished from the distribution of absolute values, show that the largest fatality rate is between 2 and 4 a.m.
