Abstract

Based on the relative relationship of the traffic flow of segment in the urban road network, we study the optimal space distribution of loop detectors on the arterial road with Statistic Analysis Techniques. Then we proposed the criteria of installing traffic detectors on them. On the other hand, the paper predicts and checks out the traffic volume that had been clustered to the same class of segment with the data of the road network of Changchun City. The research achievement solved efficiently the optimal space distribution of traffic detectors on urban arterial road and the traffic volume prediction of non-detectors segment.
